Heroes

Heroes step forward when someone is in trouble and Shelby County Commissioner Willie Brooks is one such hero. At a time when there are many, many members of our community facing eviction, Commissioner Brooks has stepped forward with a resolution giving $50,000 to Memphis Area Legal Services to prevent evictions in District 6. We and the people in Raleigh, Frayser, and Nutbush appreciate his support and encourage the remaining twelve commissioners to join Commissioner Brooks in allocating funds to fight evictions.

(MALS) is the primary provider of civil legal representation to low income families in the western Tennessee counties of Shelby, Fayette, Tipton and Lauderdale.
